Creating an Application in VBCS
There are two ways to create an application in VBCS:
By using a template or creating an application from scratch.
If you choose to use a template, you’ll be able to select from a variety of pre-built applications that you can then customize to fit your needs. If you create an application from scratch, you’ll have more control over the look of your application and its functionality.
To create an application from scratch, click the “Create Application” button on the VBCS interface. This will open up the Application Wizard, which will walk you through the process of creating your application. First, you’ll need to give your application a name and select a template. For this example, we’ll choose the “Blank” template.
Next, you’ll need to select the region for deploying your application. VBCS offers a variety of regions to choose from, so you can select the one that’s closest to your users. For this example, we’ll choose the “US East (Virginia)” region.
After you’ve selected a region, you’ll need to select a runtime. VBCS offers two runtimes: Node.js and JET. Node.js is a JavaScript runtime used for server-side applications, while JET is a JavaScript framework used for client-side applications. For this example, we’ll choose the Node.js runtime.
Finally, you’ll need to select a storage provider.
VBCS offers two storage providers: Oracle Database Cloud Service, Oracle Database Cloud Service is a fully-managed relational database service used for storing application data. For this example, we’ll choose Oracle Database Cloud Service.
After you’ve completed the Application Wizard, you’ll be taken to the “Overview” page for your application. This page provides an overview of your application and a link to the “Edit Application” page, where you can begin customizing your application.
Adding Features to Your Application
VBCS offers a variety of features that you can add to your applications, such as social login, push notifications, and offline support. This section will show you how to add social login to your application.
To add social login to your application, click the “Edit Application” button in the VBCS interface. This will take you right to the “Authentication” page, where you can configure the authentication settings for your application.
First, you’ll need to select the “Social Login” tab. Then, you’ll need to select the social network that you want to use for social login. For this example, we’ll choose Facebook.
Next, you’ll need to enter the App ID and App Secret for your social login provider. You can find these values in the developer documentation for your social login provider. For Facebook, you can find these values at- https://developers.facebook.com/.
After you’ve entered the App ID and App Secret, you’ll need to click on the “Save” button. This will save your changes and enable social login for your application.
Testing Your Application
After you’ve added all of the features that you want to your application, you can test your application by clicking on the “Test” button in the VBCS interface. This will open up a new browser window with a URL that you can use to access your application.
If you’re satisfied with how your application works, you can deploy your application by clicking on the “Deploy” button in the VBCS interface. This will open up the Deployment Wizard, which will walk you through the process of deploying your application.
First, you’ll need to select a deployment type. For this example, we’ll choose the “Development” deployment type.
Next, you’ll need to enter a name for your deployment. This name will be used to identify your deployment in the VBCS interface.
After entering a name for your deployment, you’ll need to select the region to deploy your application. VBCS offers a variety of regions to choose from, so you can select the one closest to your users. For this example, we’ll choose the “US East (Virginia)” region.
Finally, you’ll need to click on the “Deploy” button. This will start the deployment process, and you’ll see the status of your deployment in the VBCS interface.
After deploying the application, you can access it at the URL provided in the VBCS interface.
